Learning to Walk

Bea has started walking with assistance, or while pushing something. I'm going to post a video of her pushing around her little cart. She also likes to push Cosmo's motorcycle and her little ride-on bee toy. The last few days she has been standing alone for a few seconds, but she is still too nervous to try to take a step.
I went upstairs to get her some clothes earlier and I heard her grunting on the steps and looked and she was half-way up the stairs... time to get out the baby gate I guess. Bea is going to be 1 year in 10 days. It is completely crazy to me!

Spring Bea

Its been a while since I blogged... Bea has been crawling like a mad man, pulling up on every thing and taking some steps while she's holding someone's hands. Her signs now include more, ninny/milk, eat, all done, mama, night-night and we are working hard on thank you & grammy. Right now she's sitting in my lap drawing all over my school book with a highlighter.
She likes giving kisses too. She likes to pucker up and then jerk her face away. She thinks it's hilarious.
Like I mentioned before I bought a little Flip video camera, so I'm finally posting a video.

On a recent trip to the library Bea met a creepy Easter bunny and discussed some good books with her friend Graham:

My Smart BeBe

I think this is going to be a boring old text-only blog. My camera is dead and I've been a slacker about taking pictures lately. I did get a little video camera a couple weeks ago, so maybe I'll try to upload something from that.
In new news, Bea has slept through the night pretty much every night for a few weeks. I could not love it more. She's crawling like a maniac, and pulling herself up a little.
AND my favorite new news... She's been signing "more" to me the last few days. I'm so proud of her. She's been able to sign "ninny" (which is what we call nursing) for a while now, just a few minutes ago she signed "more ninny" Its so cute! I'm not sure she's really using it in the correct context always though. For example, she signs more when she just wants something to eat, not more to eat, I've been working on the sign for "eat" for a while but she hasn't gotten it yet. Also unless I'm just being overly hopeful, I think she signed "all done" after her nap today. She's brilliant :)

We HATE Playing!

Today I'm working on a paper for my career counseling class, and trying to keep Bea entertained at the same time... Its not going so well. Thankfully, my mother is going to take her off my hands for a few hours so I can actually get something done! Yay!

My name is Bea and playing makes me so sad!

...and Again!

Bea slept through again! This time she slept from 8:30 to 7:30. She woke up at 5:30 and made a few squawking noises, but never cried, and went right back to sleep. Both nights that she has slept through I have been sleeping on the couch. So i guess if she sees me in the bed next to her she'll cry for me, but if not she just goes back to sleep. So basically I'll be spending the majority of my nights on the sofa i guess. At least until she makes this a habit.
Last week when the weather was nice we spent sometime outside. Gabby and I cleaned up the back yard a little bit, Cosmo ran around and played, and Bea ate dirt. I sat her on a blanket and walked around cleaning and when i came back she had a bunch of dirt and grass on her blanket and her mouth was covered with dirt. There was also a grub on her blanket which I'm assuming she tasted and rejected. I mean I'm glad she likes to try new things.
In fact, Bea loves eating, I think its her whole motivation for beginning to crawl. She just crawls around popping strange things into her mouth. I guess this is appropriate behavior for the daughter of the girl who named all her babies after food stuffs (cookie, chip, cracker and a pound puppy named Preston, after the grocery).
Unfortunately I didn't think to take any pictures of Bea covered in dirt, but here is one of her looking intoxicated by the good weather...

All the way, from 8:30 p.m. to 8:45 a.m.
